Cumulus, an up-and-coming lifestyle and design shop opened in May 2010, Wheelock place, to huge success. Already many of their products have been sold out, and the rest remain widely popular. Bringing in cult fashion brands aimed at men, Cumulus believes in selling products with style yet are design and function oriented first. 8flo highlights some of their more unique products – stylish bags made from recycled materials. Whoever thought that was possible?
Why Cumulus?
Walking into the spacious and minimalistic shop one could get overwhelmed by the variety of bags. This isn’t surprising. For the shop’s name, Cumulus, means to literally accumulate, in latin. However, don’t expect these bags to always be there, some literally fly off the shelves at an astonishing pace. Also used to describe clouds, Cumulus is also constantly changing. Their bags are many but they are also few. This is because many of their products are limited editions, or one- of- a-kind. if you’ve set your eyes on a piece, you should grab it fast, and if you want to be sure that you’re carrying something unique that no one else will, Cumulus is the place to be.
Shop owner, Irwin, feels that there aren’t enough shops targeted at men’s accessories in Singapore. This was when the idea of Cumulus was born. Aiming to promote lifestyle and design brands for working men, they retail mostly bags right now, but expect to see more accessories in the near future.
