Cijin Island is the site to spot the “old Kaohsiung”. Once you get to the island, you will be greeted by a 300-year-old Matsu Temple.
The island is filled with seafood restaurants and craft stores. The seafood is definitely a must-try. I tried a plate of salmon sashimi which set me back by only NT100 (approximately SGD4)! What’s more, each slice of the salmon is about 1cm thick and tasted really fresh. The best way to get to the island is via ferry, at only NT$15 (approximately SGD0.65).
