'A Single Tear' by Dr KK Seet

Look out for a new book which will make the perfect Valentine’s Day gift! The Book A Single Tear

“Have you told anyone today that you love them?”

A Single Tear is a full color, fully illustrated fairytale in an 80-page hardback format published with the support of the National Arts Council. It tells of a romance that endures through several lifetimes and advocates the notions of Carpe Diem and expressing one’s love in a timely manner in order to avoid millennia of regret and wasted opportunity. It is a fairytale for all ages, packaged in an accessible and appealing way, which makes it the perfect gift for Valentine’s Day.
Proceeds from the sale of the book will also go towards the Tan Mingwei Memorial Fund, which helps needy and underprivileged students in their overseas internships.

The Author Dr KK Seet Dr KK Seet is often described as “Singapore’s Most Glamorous Academic” because he is perhaps the only Singaporean who competently straddles the world of academia, known for brains, gravitas and the authority of intellectual rigor, and the world of media, known for its colorful personalities, flair and pizzazz. As an academic, Dr Seet has taught for over twenty years at NUS, where he established the theatre program that produced such versatile thespians as Janice Koh and Jonathan Lim and such television luminaries as Jeanette Aw and Michele Chong. Dr Seet holds seven degrees/diplomas including a PhD, two Master degrees (an MA and an MSc) and a professional diploma in wine. He is listed in Routledge’s Who’s Who in World Theatre as well as in Marquis’ Who’s Who in the World. Seet has authored twelve books, published many academic papers, book chapters and critical introductions and is regularly sought for his scholarly observations and expert opinion on the arts. He has advised on curricular matters for the Ministry of Education, served on its Creative Arts Program and sat on many scholarship and fellowship selection panels including the erstwhile Shell Centennial Scholarship and the JCCI fellowship. The recent “Singapore Can Speak” campaign, to promote rhetoric and public speaking among our youth, appointed him as a key ambassador, in the same way that the national Speak Good English Movement harnessed his expertise in various ways, whether in evaluating instances of poor English signage at Singapore’s tourist landmarks and institutions (a regular column that appeared in The Straits Times for a number of weeks), in commenting on common mispronunciations among Singaporeans on Razor TV or in helping the dethroned Miss Singapore, Ris Low, improve her speech patterns, even though only one lesson transpired before Ris Low was stripped of her crown.
