A romantic honeymoon will make one of the best memories for couples. Choosing a destination that both parties will enjoy is key to a romantic getaway. Basic questions you may want to consider: Do you both prefer tropical beaches or a snow skiing session? Are you both adventurous enough to travel all the way to Africa or would they prefer “safer” cities such as Seoul or Taipei? Shortlist the travel destinations based on a few of these questions, check out the weather conditions and then, you are almost ready to go!
Here are a few romantic destinations that we think are great for travelling couples:
Asia: Jeju, South Korea
You don’t have to travel far for a romantic vacation. Just within Asia, we have Jeju Island, which is situated southwest of the Korean Peninsula. The beautiful island is dubbed with names such as “Honeymoon Island”, “Island of the Gods” and “Korean Hawaii”.
Jeju has milder weather conditions compared to other places of Korea such as Seoul. This means winter seldom goes below 0 degrees Celsius and summer hardly exceeds 30 degrees Celsius, making it the perfect honeymoon destination anytime of the year.
Things to do
- Catch the sunrise at Seongsan Ilchubong Peak, which was formed through a sea volcanic eruption a hundred thousand years ago. The sunrise view from the peak is magnificent.
- For adventurous couples, go for a hike at Hallasan, which is the highest mountain of South Korea. When you reach the top of the mountain, you may find Baekrokdam Lake which is so crystal-clear, you can see the reflection of the scenery on it.
- Make a trip to Jeju Loveland, which was built for newlywed Korean couples as a means of sex education. There are various artistic sculptures with sexual elements which were created by the artistic hands of Hongik University’s graduates. Do take note that you must be at least 18 years old to enter the park. - Next page
