Beauty trend: Mascaras with unconventional wands

The mascara market is huge in Asia because Asian women are obsessed with achieving long, lush and curled eyelashes. Gone are the days when mascara only has one or two types of brushes. These days, beauty brands try to outdo one another not just by innovating their formulas, but also their mascara brushes. Mascara brushes, they say, are what can make a difference to the effect that you want to achieve with your mascara.

L’Oreal Paris recently launched Curl Impact Collagene, a mascara that promises to deliver 13 times more volume and curls that last - without the use of an eyelash curler. Here are five main features that make this new mascara sound like an attractive deal:

l'oreal paris curl impact collagene special brush
-It contains Amplifying Collagene, which helps visibly thicken your lashes strand by strand without weighing down the lashes.
-The formula also has Curl-fixing complex with Film Wrapped Polymers and Extra Hard Olive Wax, which work together to wrap lashes in a uniform film so they stay in a curled position.
-Easy removal. You just have to cleanse it with warm water and the mascara is removed in tubes, so it’s clean and fuss-free.
-A unique spiral brush that has a side made for volumising and another for curling.
-A luxurious gold-and-black packaging that makes you want to flaunt in the ladies’ room.

L’Oreal Paris Curl Impact Collagene retails at $26.90.

I think mascara brushes should come in heart shapes.. for… aesthetic factor. :D

i think that the brusher may come in 1/3 in size for easy to use for front and back of lashes.

Flexible – like wires. Then you can turn it into the shape you want. There will be a button for you to fill the brush with mascara after that. Hehe.

I think that the brushes should come with a pen like shape. The tip of the pen will come with a smudge mascara with a bit of heat to help to curl up the lashes, especially for straight lashes. Or it can be like a tong like shape where we can clip the eyelashes and force them to curl up.

It would prehaps be more interesting if mascara comes in the outshaped of hello kitty. afterall, its a girls best friend. just like hello kitty.

I feel that a T look shape brush will be cool, the end will be for hard to reach places like the side of the lower lash and the long part will be a normal like brush where everyone is comfortable with!

Mascara with sleek triangular tip, like the tip of some pencils, with each of the 3 sides having a different colour mascara, perhaps one side can be black, another with gold glitter and the last with silver glitter. This will allow more creativity in application and bring about new and fresh looks for eye lashes.

Mascara with brush in the shape of a butterfly with curved wings, with the wings being fold-able with the press of a button. Users can brush lashes with the butterfly shaped brush all around, with special areas like the tip being sharper to define the side lashes that are harder to reach. Also, the can claps their lashes after or before application be clicking the button to fold up the curved wings, acting as a lash curler as well.

I am sure that many of us use the wiggling method to apply mascara so how about a super fine bristles wand in a zigzag-shaped that will do the wiggling instead?

(Jokes aside, I think that comb-like wand still works the best to distribute mascara evenly while separating and elongating each lashes without clumping, perhaps the only complain is that it is not helping in curling :)

I feel that the normal mascaras are too big and bushy that sometimes i accidentally brushed into my eyes and it is painful and i need to remove all the eye makeup again cos it’ll be messed up and hence that gives me the phobia of brushing the inner of my eyelashes so i always take a long time to put on mascara and it may looks as if i didnt put it at all.

I wish it could be in a shape of a inverted U shape and only the top of the inverted U shape will have the brush to get the mascara, the sides of the inverted U will be made of plastic and will have no brush. So the bottle will be in U shape as well, so that the brush enters only in one direction and the sides of the U shape will not have mascara at all. This way, i can safely apply mascara without having fear that the brush will touch my eyeballs causing redness to my eyes.

Mascara brush in the shape of a lucky clover leaf, firstly, this contributes greatly to aesthetic purposes and would appeal to young consumers in search of a mascara that looks chic and works well. The 4 clover-leaf shapes can bear brushes that will produce different coloured mascara ink: blue, black (the normals) and silver and white (for the daring and bold)! This would then be a brush of great appeal or versatility!

I like mascara to come in star shape in tiny brushes so it has multiple angles to brush all the lashes.
