PARCO next NEXT will be commemorating local pride with an art-meets-retail 10 day shopping event titled Nation Pride- Home. This is their second year and the celebrations look set to be even bigger.
Nation Pride 2011 will feature homegrown products from our very own Singaporean talents, and the art-meet-retail installation will be packed with fashion, music, books, spa products, art and photography buys.
Nation Pride 2011- Home will be furnished with items from The Salvation Army, and nestled in the wardrobes and hung on the washing lines at PARCO Next NEXT are limited edition Nation Pride-inspired Tees designed by guest designers Kenny Lim and Andrew Loh (DEPRESSION), Frederick Lee (Frederick Lee), JR Chan (JASON), Keith Png (KOOPS), Max Tan (max.tan), Alfie Leong (Mu), Nic Wong & Daniel Loh (SATURDAY).
Event attendees can rummage through the drawers and discover handmade bags and accessories by designers Doe Han and Grace Wong, they can then complete the look with shoes by Shito.
Singapore has a strong multicultural identity and it has inspired designers like Celina Koh, the lady behind @dress of thoughts, to incorporate lacework and batik prints onto her white cotton Tees, which are also available during the event.
Mr David Wang, Project Advisor of PARCO next NEXT, detailed the improvements they’ve made and why shoppers have a lot more to look forward to at this year’s Nation Pride, “What makes this year different is that everything is on sale. Last year, so many people came for Nation Pride but were disappointed to be leaving empty handed, so this year, we thought we’d let them take home a piece of Home.”

Nation Pride 2011 – Home will be held at The Great Hall at Millenia Walk (Atrium level 1) and will be open to the public from 6 August to 15 August, from 10.30am to 9.30pm.
