A truly gourmet experience, Suite 23′s modern european dining is the perfect start to a weekend night out along Singapore’s most happening Clake Quay and Boat Quay area.
Upon stepping into the newly built in November 2010 hotel, be greeted by the warm yet spacious open-concept lobby, bar and restaurant dining area. With smart-lighting, even the amount of light pouring through the tall glass windows and from the high ceilings automatically changes to suit the mood of the hour, providing a private candlelit atmosphere in the evening but is bright and well-lit and ideal for business meetings in the day.
A must-try is their signature Blackberry Mojito which is the perfect aperitif before the start of the meal. Made with freshly crushed mint leaves and refreshing blackberry, the tantalizing but not overpoweringly sweet cocktail helps get guests into the mood for a relaxing evening.
Match those cocktails with some crisp and delicate Bruschetta of vined-tomato confit ($11), with baby pomodoro drizzled in olive oil, vinegar, and with a serving of smooth camembert, that is paired with a hint of dried mango and pinapple bits. Pairing Camembert with the soft sweetness of fruit helped to bring out the flavour of the cheese in this hard to put down appetizer.
For those of you who are tired with the usual mushroom soup or seafood bisques, a recommended healthy starter to the meal will be their special Watermelon Soup ($12), which is a warm and spicy soup topped with crabmeat salad – light and great for cleansing the palate before the entree.

A decadent offering is also the Pan fried foie gras ($25), which is thinly seared to perfection on the outside, and melts orgasmically in the mouth, with risotto with truffle reduction on the side. As foie gras is precious and disappears from the plate quickly, it will lead you craving for more.

Suite 23′s chargrilled carving selection is also part of their dinner highlights, and they serve up a generous Australian ribeye ($29) and an even more generous 200 day grain fed Angus Porterhouse steak ($123). The star of the night has to be this and the size of the porterhouse steak at first glance may be intimidating (a gargantuan helping of approximately 650g) but quantity sometimes can be paired with quality, as the porterhouse steak is by far the tenderest selection of steak available. A rare sight in Singapore, Angus Porterhouse Tagliata ($123) is also available on the menu, and is a gamier, more chewy part of the legendary porterhouse steak. The tagliata is first drizzled with virgin olive oil and sea salt, and topped with rocket salad before being served up to the table to be shared between two persons or more. For those looking for a lighter meal, the succulent Australian lamb cutlet aromatically scented with herbs and chargrilled with house special roast potatoes and side salad is recommended.

Save some room for dessert though for their Warm Apricot and Pear Crumble($14, featured in the middle) with hints of water chestnut, a toasty warm serving that will bring back cosy memories of mother’s home-made baking, paired with a uniquely spicy and sweet Ginger gelato. Their Lemongrass creme brulee ($14, featured on the left) is of the warm variety, containing a soothing chocolate mouse at the bottom. Ladies would love the lemon Citrus tart ($14) that provides a bit of zing to the palette. The taste of lemon though is not overbearingly sour but sweet, with a buttery tart as a base and topped with creamy and thick Cinnamon mascarpone.
