Michael Kors to open in Singapore

All eyes are turning to Michael Kors as they prepare to open a new store in Singapore.

Michael Kors, Inc. was pleased to announce a licensing agreement with the leading luxury goods retailer in Southeast Asia, Valiram Group, and they plan to grow the business with more Michael Kors retail outlets throughout Malaysia and Singapore, over the next five years.

In Singapore, the first freestanding Michael Kors location is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of the year within the prime shopping district in Orchard Road – Scotts Square.

The first freestanding Michael Kors store in Malaysia will open in August 2011 within the prestigious Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. The 3,500 square foot duplex will carry ready to wear and accessories including handbags, small leather goods, footwear, eyewear, watches, and fragrance from Michael Kors, KORS Michael Kors, and MICHAEL Michael Kors.

Michael Kors is recognized worldwide as a preeminent designer for luxury accessories and ready to wear. His namesake company, established in 1981, currently produces a range of products through his Michael Kors Collection, KORS Michael Kors, MICHAEL Michael Kors labels, including accessories, men’s & women’s ready to wear, and a full line of fragrance and beauty products for both women and men.

Celebrities who have donned Michael Kors include Angelina Jolie, Cameron Diaz, Uma Thurman, Jennifer Lopez, Sandra Bullock, Madonna, Barbara Streisand, Gwyneth Paltrow, Blake Lively, Jennifer Hudson and Kate Winslet. In March of 2009, first lady of America Michelle Obama also chose a Michael Kors gown for her first official portrait, and continues to wear Michael Kors on a regular basis.

Michael Kors is also popularly known for his role as one of the judges of the critically acclaimed and give time emmy nominated reality show “Project Runway”, a role that he continues in the series’ seven seasons.
