The most famous Basset Hound has to be the one in Hush Puppies’ logo. A Michigan based company started since 1958, Hush Puppies is known all over the world today as a footwear brand that embodies intuitive design, original concepts and a great level of comfort.
This autumn, Hush Puppies collaborates with another Michigan based designer, Anna Sui, to launch an eye-catching collection. This collection is a marriage of her rock-n-roll romanticism and the laid-back casual American style of Hush Puppies footwear, which is the first of many from this unique collaboration, Anna Sui for Hush Puppies.
There are six women’s styles in this collection and they have had their debut on Anna Sui’s runway show at the New York Fashion Week this February. They are a tall boot, a chukka, a lace-up, a wing-tip, a tap show and a ghillie, each in gorgeous, richly coloured ‘Worry-Free’ suede. The colours used are rich jeweled hues very fall and winter appropriate against the backdrop of golden leaves and wintry white snow.
Also launched by Hush Puppies, their latest Autumn Winter Collection 2011 includes four very distinct ranges to suit your eclectic taste for fashion and style.
Hush Puppies Nineteen Fifty-Eight
This range centres its concept on the vintage retro-esque feel, harking back to the very year the brand started, embodying the free spirits of the era modified with a contemporary edge. The shoes showcase a mix of leather and suede appropriate for both the feminine styles and casuals for men.
Laid-back Luxe
This more relaxed range easily displays the ease and style of Hush Puppies. Natural dyes from nuts and trees are used hence giving the teal, prune and forest green colours of the suede on the shoes.
Cornerstitch construction eliminates the use of glues and adhesives resulting in greater durability, flexibility and utmost comfort. This is indeed one of life’s luxuries.
Pony Flair
Not a one-trick pony, this range makes use of pony hair, leather and kid suede to give a mix of texture to the shoe while maintaining an optimum level of comfort.
